gia first, the queer-coding of mike wheeler. in episode 7, when mike and robin are arguing about picking a record, you can see robin making fun of mike’s music preference and she refers to it as ‘butthole surfers’ and that term is a known reference to male homosexuality. Now its known that robin is openly lesbian and has shown no interest in men, and she is disgusted by the music, while mike genuinely likes it. this coincidence cannot be accidental. another scene where they subtly queer-code mike wheeler is another scene with him in robin. what is weird ab this is that the show keeps pairing them together and making them have interactions that often end up in disagreement. like where they argue ab how to say frankenstein, and several other interactions. there is also so much evidence that mike and eleven aren’t together anymore, or that they have broken up. they are referred to as friends like 12 times. okay not 12 but you know what i mean. like when el is mocked for wanting to move away with her friend mike. nothing about their interactions is even romantic anymore. will referring to mike as his tammy is not an accurate comparison. robin’s little crush on a girl is nothing like will and mike growing up together. mike is even more than will’s vicky. will saying that mike (the boy he likes) isnt like him (aka gay) is entirely from wills perspective, because there is sm queer-coding in mikes character that suggests he does like will. you literally cannot trust will saying that, because he is simply expressing his own emotions and how he feels/his perspective on the situation. will believing mike doesnt like him does not make it true. will says this because he doesn’t want to have false hope for something that might not happen. i guarantee you that this isnt a journey for will to navigate his life and focus on himself entirely, (it is partly tho) because if mike were to open up ab his feelings, will would most definitely go back to him. mikes expressions during will’s coming out prove that he isnt uncomfortable or dismissive, he looks shocked. and its clear he didnt fully realize will was in love with him. he’s thinking back to past interactions and realizing that he had a chance and didn’t take it. it’s really up to mike now, and what he decides to do about the whole thing. will has made it clear he doesn’t think mike loves him, and so hes pushing his feelings down in an attempt to distract himself. (highkey based on an analysis i saw on youtube but some of it is mine)

Cammy byler canon guys

ida (semi-ia) ☾ ilysm for this

~ scarlett ~ (byler is endgame ver 💙💛) one more thing that you didn’t mention that i think is crazy: Mike and Will are supposed to have a LOT of scenes together in this show, like more than the rest of the cast. Since in Vol 1 and 2 there have NOT been that many scenes with Will and Mike, I think that they may end up having a LOT of scenes in the Finale episode. I love your essay btw lol 🙌
