There was a really great tangent about a passionate professor in this chapter that I really resonated with. There is something so special about witnessing someone in their element talking about the things they’ve studied and devoted a large portion of their lives to. I love it. I loved experiencing it in my own undergrad classes.

I’m hoping this is Charon, or some variation of him.

I’m really intrigued by the way both Alice and Peter’s relationship is unfolding, and by the new knowledge we’re gaining of their experience with Professor Grimes.

I’m loving the way Alice’s character is developing, this familiarity of the lifestyle of a student and that question of where discipline ends and poverty begins. The writing style is phenomenal, building and building that sense of discomfort within the court of desire, the loss of humanity in addiction… this is so good!

I’m loving the dynamic between Alice and Peter. It’s obvious they share a past together and I’m eager to learn more about it, and I’m loving this depiction of Hell. I’m so curious if they’ll actually have to go through each Court or not.
