Read about half of the book. Clearly a lot of research has been done but the focus seems to be as a biography to Hawkins and not necessarily the culture in England or the Caribbean making it out of the scope of my research. Despite the research being done to such a grand scale, the writing is a bit lengthy and difficult to follow at times. Perhaps when I’m not pressed for time I’ll return to this.
