The notes on the comics by wonderful comics historians -didn't know that title exists before- about this early career life of the amazing Duck Man, Carl Barks and how is the WWII affected these early comics.

It's like more than 10 years since the publisher printed the first vol. of this library which was No.5, they didn't publish it on order so it's great to start reading it in order now.

Old jokes may be yet still freshly funny.

Pluto Saves the Ship (2.5 Stars)

First time to see Carl Barks making a story without Donald or any of the Duck family.. only Pluto here from the Mickey’s vers.. it’s not his arts anyway it’s Carl’s script only.. yet the story is normal just bit funny about a spy dog…

Donald Duck and the Mummy's Ring (3 Stars)
A long story about 30 pages with a cursed ring and a trip to the cliche Egypt of old comics back then.
It's good story anyway...for early work of Mr Barks.

More fun short 10 pages stories..

Lifeguard Daze (4.5 Stars)
Donald trying to impress a pretty girl with his job as the beach's Lifeguard.. A good funny twist with Shark in the end.

The Limber W Guest Ranch (3.5 Stars)
Full of old Southerners' slang I guess, a bit funny with Donald & the kids lost in the desert.

The Mighty Trapper (4 Stars)
Donald & the kids compete who trap more wild animals to get a funny end.
