I like the cultural look at things and the way she’s using the anatomy changes to guess at how social interactions changed. Kinda cool to think about

Prettttty good still. Sometimes I feel like there’s a strong stance stated as if it’s a fact and then the foot note will be like “well we don’t actually know,” and that makes question a lot of the statements. Not out of doubt that it could be true but out of concern that it’s stretching a fact to fit a narrative

This book is still really good. Highly recommend if you have any interest in biology or anthropology.

This perception chapter has been wild. I had no idea that women’s auditory and olfactory sensations were that different from men’s. I mean that’s kinda bananas. It kinda makes sense when I think about how my sister doesn’t like tv shows with characters who have high pitched voices. She’s literally hearing pitches I can’t. It’s just bananas that the way we experience the world is fundamentally different.

This boon is wildly interesting. Since when did kangaroos have 3 vaginas??? And since when did rhinos have a lightening shaped penis? Animals are freakin sick! I’ve never been more engrossed in reproductive organs of various animals.

So far liking this book! Introduction has got me excited and I can’t wait to see the evidence and statements made in each chapter and learning about human evolutionary history and culture! I love me a good anthropology book!
