Up until the last story, I have loved these sparse, dark stories. Then, I read The Scent of Winter, and now I want to dnf. Why did she add this racist (& unnecessary) portrayal of the American South (you’re a white woman from Ireland) of a Black man as a sexual predator? And dropping the n-word?! Multiple times?! Ugh. Disappointed in Claire Keegan. Why is no one talking about this?
