DNF at 44%. I hate this book. It is simply too close to areas I have studied extensively (Psychology, Psychotherapy, Sleep, Dreaming) and much too wrong in those areas to be enjoyable. I also dislike the style, the pacing, and the tone. Sometimes Science Fiction doesn't age well, and I think this is one of those books for me. I'm hoping next month's book is better!

If you know anything about sleep and dreams, this book will irritate you right away. Even though the stages of sleep were well-defined and observed on EEG in 1954, LeGuin still gets them wrong in 1972.
