What struck me the most was Tallow’s POV. Who is he? I need to know more. We just know that he’d been in the camps too. And he is way harder than Vick, which is interesting. The way he played Vick dan Teufel of all people should be studied. But then again he received instructions and pointers from Glokta. Plus, as he said, she wanted to believe him. I wonder what would’ve happened had she saw through him

Here’s to hoping that this won’t be the last we see of this world. Here’s to hoping more will come in the very near future. I’ll miss this.

This would mark a the end of this series (for the time being) with one hundred and seventy five (175) major and minor POVs and eleven books (two main trilogies, three standalonebooks, and two short story collections). That is an insane number, but the author is right, it is one of his strengths. His ability to make the reader care about a character in such a short time is insane, he’s really good at it.

I really enjoyed these short stories, my only complaint is that I wish we got more. I love the interior illustrations (a lot more than the cover to be honest) the way the negative space was utilized is just brilliant! I think the first two in particular are great with the first one being my favorite. The composition is so seamless, I’ve been obsessed with it since I first saw it. Very beautiful.

his reluctance to tell Savine about her parentage and his fears of being abandoned were heart-wrenching. And seeing fourteen-year-old Savine was great! I honestly want more. Pike is such an interesting character, I really did enjoy reading from his perspective. I can’t believe that he was the one who Judge has got her name from. Insane. Risinau and Judge both were putty in his hands. Both pawns in a larger game

[The Great Change] Yet another story with six (6) POVs (5 of of them are new); Glokta (I missed him), Pike (we had a Salem Rews but it’s not the same I don’t care), Risinau, Sibalt, Grise, and Tallow. I loved this one. Glokta has been working on this scene for more than a decade (around 14 years?) this is insane. But to see the world through his perspective has been a pleasure, I doubt we’ll ever get to again

And going back to Jesper at the end was a great choice. Man, I hate Judge and the Burners. Those days were dark.

[The Point] another great story! With four (4) new POVs; Jesper, Smolof, Fettel dan Sarova, and Sarlby. I loved this one too! Fettel was very interesting. It’s a shame that she was denounced by her brother-in-law whom she’d worked so hard to get to marry her sister and pay for their debts. Zuri knowing her thoughts about how the dagger had made her feel powerful was fun. And I like that she told her to keep it.

Orso’s doubts over his father’s death are totally justified. And they serve (in a way) to confirm that he didn’t die of natural causes but Bayaz was done with him probably. The illustration at this beginning of each story are breathtaking! I really really like the painting style and the textures of the brushstrokes, very beautiful.

[The Stone] was a lovely story too! With seven (7) new POVs; Faris, Zaida, Manok, Gabresi, Vettel, Sontice, and Bronkhorst. I quite liked Zaida’s POV. It’s always interesting to see an Eater point of view. And I kinda want more of her. The interested in profit rather than Prophet joke was fun. And it’s always great to see more of the south. It was bittersweet to see Orso again.

Plus it was nice to see more of the south, I hope that we get more in the new standalone books.
