The three conjoined panels of the apothecary shop… begin to separate and warp. A skilled professional restorer can gradually untwist wood and reconnect the panels.
Breitwieser tried to fix it himself… a method one curator calls “brutal”, he forces the panels into approximate position and seals them with SUPER GLUE!

The work was displayed in the museum’s entry room, the most crowded spot”
Madeline was there; then she wasn’t
A work that had hung undisturbed in the museum for 138 years, since it had been given by a private donor so the painting could be seen by the public, had just vanished like a soap bubble into the air

Tara Pippins 143 - What a crazy chain of events! He steals the bugle from the Wager Museum. There were three visitors in total that day. Right after he left the employee, Esther Jaerg, walked through and noticed the bugle gone, called police. They took shoe prints, fingerprints and DNA. An article about it was written in the paper and read by a retired journalist who walked near the museum. When they returned so Anne-Catherine could clean the fingerprints, the sam dude saw him in the same green coat he wore when he stole the bugle. He told the employee about the creeper outside and when she saw the same green coat, she called the police. He was arrested. I cannot believe he blames Anne-Catherine for going back. She said “wear gloves”, “don’t steal in Switzerland”, and “stay in the car”. He literally listened to her zero times.

150- inspectors have an international search warrant. They go to his house with French officers “Soon they climb the stairs to the attic. The door is unlocked. There is no bugle inside. No other musical instruments. No silver objects. No oil paintings. No ivories, porcelain, or gold.” Was it the Mom or Anne-Catherine that removed it all?
