I see we have come to the throne breaking portion of the novel.
Also where's the Solari homeworld exactly? Is that Earth? Is that where Earth has been this whole time? Are Solari humans? And if so, humans are the "very tall" race, so what's that mean for everybody else? I've been picturing everybody as more or less human sized for a book and a half so now I'm lost

I'm beginning to suspect that NL-7 is going to be pivotal in separating Edgar and Wythe. Edgar is a sniveling, scrawny little shit to be sure, but that droid raised him and if it could have opinions, would have a fair few about the Enkindler.

2. There is a Solari religion AND a Solari race/ethnicity (the "very tall" ones)
3. There's also a Solari language (presumably originating with 2b)

Finally got curious enough to pick this back up. Ordinarily I'd be opposed to "badass female protagonist gets rescued by a man" but that man is her uncle so Coffindaffer is forgiven

Y’know I could in theory go off about how this supposedly egalitarian space empire (besides being, well, an empire) has had three consecutive male emperors and we've yet to see a woman's ass on that throne and two female contenders have died violently about it. No word yet on whether this was as intentional as Atar's death.
