A classic whodunnit with amazing descriptions of Oahu. The introduction of the problematic and fascinating Charlie Chan. Admittedly this book is DATED and contains a lot of cultural stereotypes and language. But it also tries (for its time.. the 1930s!) to give Chan depth and humanity beyond probably what the even more problematic Hollywood film series did. A curiosity for sure
