This could be otherwise titled, "The Diary of an Egoist." The protagonist is so conscious of himself, his position, and his relationality to others that he is miserable, and it bugs me endlessly, the back-and-forth self-pitying yet self-aggrandizing Joker-esque nature. "No one understands me!" He wails, terrified of being understood. Anxiety, in this case, translates directly to narcissism.
