So dense with deep ideas. I covered holiness, perfection, art of song and glory in authentic worship. Throughout each the depravity of mankind is clear and the magnitude and majesty of God emphasized. I keep trying to reflect but come to the same conclusion of feeling finite and unworthy which is the truth. The hardest truth to remember is that our salvation is not God’s endgame, it’s his glory.

Slowly working through. I think the biggest take away right now is that Tozer wants us to recognize the character of God to truly be able to worship him well. By recognizing God we recognize the work and love he has done for us BUT for his own sake not our own.

Lest two chapters where about praise and holiness. Reading through is still a challenge because most of the stuff he says is very obvious to me just said in a more strict way. Ex. With holiness I get that most churches don’t portray God as the ultimate holy being. I won’t say that I am the exception but I don’t want to be living in shame for existing. I suppose that is some of his points though. 😞

Each message is flows very mucha like preachers points line adding in ideas as he goes along.
I love how he connects authentic worship the the state of being as a Christian. Worship is such a ubiquitous part of the Christian experience so many people miss its importance. I also very much agree with in ch 3 that we should almost get lost in our worship to God. I fine it so important to do hard to put into practice.
