WHY: Boredom? Work inertia? Entropy? Whatever. It's too long to post here, but attached below I picked MY FAVORITE BOOKS LIST THING of the year. Some were rereads, most not, all topmost of the popmost. Socially, the year was a fucking derailed train. Bookishly? Fantastic. I would gladly swap the two.

Happy New Year, goodwill to all things living, a reliquary for all things not, and SOLIDARITY, MOTHERFUCKERS X

Cody with only the first handful in order, these were the best books I done did read this year: ALL THREE Charles Wright novels (unequivocal masterpieces; best of almost any year); Mojo Hand—JJ Phillips; Gulf Stream North—Earl Conrad; Dem—William Melvin Kelley; Là-Bas—JK Huysmans; The Stepdaughter—Caroline Blackwood; Blood of Strawberries—Henry Van Dyke; Two Serious Ladies—Jane Bowles; Shadow Ticket—Thomas Pynchon; Beetlecreek—William Demby; So Long, See You Tomorrow—William Maxwell; Winter In The Blood—James Welch; Like It Matters—Lee Klein; Where You Once Belonged—Kent Haruf; Froth on the Daydream—Boris Vian; Harvest—Jean Giono; Who Was Changed and Who Was Dead—Babara Comyns; Blue in Green—Wesley Brown; Housekeeping—Marilynne Robinson; My Main Mother—Barry Beckham.

Love on ya, everyone X

Josh Where You Once Belonged—Kent Haruf - This along with 'The Tie That Binds' are my favorites of his.

Cody I had to pick ONE. That could have been the other just as easily. Fucking Haruf batted 1.000. It’s unbelievable.

Lisa Happy new year, Cody! Big YES to Two Serious Ladies. So many other names inching up the list.

Cody Happy New Year, Lisa! Long time together now; you still fucking rule. And: Bowles: what the fuck? Her and Paul must be the greatest artist-couple ever? Stiffs can keep their Zeldas; Miller never reached Paul's heights, personally. Monroe and Other Miller? Hmmm. Maybe.

Lisa Everything I've read about Paul and Jane makes it seem like they are batshit awesome. I really wish she'd written more.

Cody Me too. I think she just did everything once, perfectly, and solved crimes. That’s my ideal version.
