Is Julian actually alive?

I’m so confused, is Yadriel not powerful enough or not experienced enough to release Julian? Does he need to be ready to release him?

This book is an emotional rollercoaster, Yadriel’s dad understands that Lady Death accepts Yadriel as a brujo, but now because of Tito going maligno Julian is scared and wants to be set free but Yadriel isn’t wanting that 😭

Julian and Maritza’s dynamic is just beautiful. There is a certain feel and idea that Julian cannot act seriously when he is aware of how he is acting—then it seems he just goofs around a bit (I still love him). But on the other hand Yadriel is an over thinker, and the opposite dynamic is lovely.

Julian Diaz: he seems like the type of guy on first glance who I’d be intimidated by because I’m trans but he has such a massive heart.
I get Maritza’s worry but Yadriel yearns for Julian and I don’t want him to leave.
Aidan Thomas is so creative and has thought this out so much it’s amazing

I thought Julian disappeared forever I was about to be so upset, don’t scare me like that.
It’s really nice and interesting just how quickly Julian has opened up to Yadriel, because he very quickly upon opening up disproves harmful stereotypes about his friends (his real family). He’s so sweet, I love him.

Little do they know Yadriel is a brujo. Lady Death already accepted him, he deserves better than what they have to say. It’s so interesting to see how the “they come from a different time” saying basically all queer people are familiar with looks in different traditions and cultures because for me in Wales with a mainly catholic family there isn’t something/one like Lady Death to accept me when others don’t

Took a break from reading for mental health reasons but this book only keeps getting better, I love it so much and the author is just so creative and an amazing writer with all these ways to somewhat disprove the stereotypes around kids from rougher areas and I love that

The slow reveal of Julian’s backstory is really nice, I really like his character.
