I finish the first main character’s section which helps my feelings about the book. Maybe I’m just prudent but reading about essentially non stop heroin/crystal meth/etc use is fatiguing to get through. The second character’s narrative arc has been much more engaging. Continued props to the author for capturing what people are like in rural Ohio tho

Oh my god the exposition never ends. I mean the author is definitely dialed in on the bleak outlook of like rural n.e. Ohio and political tensions post 9/11 and into like 2008-ish that being said I’m ready for us to get a move on
