What a recap of what we saw throught the book it's our opinion to really picture it and think about if it actually could happen as it's more realistic but for a dog to overcome all of this after all he's been through is truly amazing. Survival of the fittest.

I am really amazed at how Buck in this story has gone through hell and manages to really find himself and still be strong and have his owner die at the hands of man. He comes upon a wolf that suddenly you think he's threatened by but he is closer to him than man at this time. He has truly found who he is. A call that has been waiting for him the call of the wilderness he goes down as legend Ghost Dog the head of pack

PSo much happens in this chapter Buck has become aquainted with his new owner so much as he doesn't want him to leave him it's not until he has dreams of this but this man Thorton wouldn't do that. He and Thorton go on trips and he saved him twice from falling in the ferocious river. They both were beaten by the waves but managed to survive. Buck also was wanted by a bunch of men who try to make a deal to buy him.

You can feel the pain they go through and the struggles theses dogs were pushed to their cores to go on but it wasn't till Buck got beaten though it says he didn't feel much of it because he had already come through it once before. It was then he knew something they didn't when the ice starts to melt and he knows something isn't right the sled and the rest of the dogs go through the ice. Buck is saved from it.

This chapter is insane the dogs were pushed to the limit. Again they go to other owners something Buck is already used to dogs coming and going from other towns some being killed off because of their conditions. The new owners are younger and don't know what they are doing. Buck goes through hell one more time before being cut loose of the sled by another man who sees Buck can't go on. He literally beats a man for it

What Buck is going through is crazy another change of owners. Now one of the dogs is struggling to go on in the pack pulling the sled but still manages to try and put himself in the place he was taken out of and replaced by another dog. He didn't like it very much. After all of that he was taken off and couldn't go on so they go on without him. Later on he is hurting so bad he can't get up and is taken out and shot.

This chapter could have been cut in 2. There is a lot that goes on a lot of dog fights. Getting caught in the snow when the sled dogs are breaking through the ice. The leader being so cold he needs to dry his clothes because of the snow being so wet. The survival of them all the dogs going up against each other and them barely having enough food for everyone. One dog going nuts. Buck finds his dominance in leading.

This was about Buck coming into himself and learning who he was, what he's been through, and how he could do many things. He learned how to get more food because he was a thicker dog who needed more than he was given he watched other dogs steal food, so he got more that way. He also learned to eat anything when he hungered for more, even when it wasn't digestible. He was different, and he knew it.

Wow this first chapter is brutal. You feel bad for Buck after being just a normal dog. He was treated bad and abused, trying to be broken he was beaten and bloodied. He wouldnt eat of drink water for 2 days being transferred. He was bought and transferred to another man, which was good because he would never again see the man who abused him ever again good thing. He would be joined by a few other dogs as well.
