Not very surprised to find some casual racism (I never expected Rex Stout to be a lot more than the product of his times) but am surprised right now about an extremely clear case of obstructing police investigation. I wonder how it will be dealt with — I am re-reading but I don’t remember. Neither I remembered the racism bit.
