Maybe I just don’t understand boytalk but his teammates are jerks. The jokes are constant and not very funny and are often at his expense.

Another thing, I know hockey players still make good money but not baseball or basketball money. A fridge role player is probably lucky to make a little over a million dollars a year or two before taxes. He would be giving her a huge portion of his salary. This is why players go bankrupt a lot. Insane.
