Love the bits about the intertwining of manual and intellectual labor and how we all basically could work a few hours of manual labor per day (what needs to be done, not much more) and then just enjoy our intellectual and artistic pursuits. It's not a new idea for me, but it's nice to hear it from over a century ago!

Happy that he covers reproductive labor. But his solution for that is automation, which, I don't know. I like that at least it's a concern for him.

Love how he makes clear (and gives examples) that there are egotistical individuals, but humans in general are not selfish and would not try to hog resources like expropriated houses or y'know, bread :P

Yesss the right to well-being for all. I can get behind that!

Also, I love how enthusiastic the narrator is.

I somehow managed to get through most of the audiobooks I had in my spreadsheet this month, except for two, this one and another one... And I tried to decide what else to listen to, for like an hour, couldn't decide, so now I'm doing this 😅 let's catch that rye!

Ruxandra Grrr The arts and science would be advantaged by more informed people, who could collaborate to achieve their projects, instead of seeking funding!

inciminci Have you read The Dispossessed by Le Guin, Ruxandra? I think that book, although fiction, shows very well how this notion could look in real life.

Ruxandra Grrr Yes, I have read it, but I think this can be done better. And it has, in Woman on the Edge of Time, for instance. I wish I'd loved The Dispossessed, I liked it very much, but still feel like critiquing it! (we can talk about this on our bread-sesh!!)
