Make sure we have friends in common, especially those that I have spoken with a lot, make sure we have interacted at least once

you can also make a challenge question to see if they are more trustworthy
you can ask you them where they found you or smth, any question that makes it easier for you to decide

friends in common usually are a deal breaker to me even if our tastes are Really not the same.. but dark romance is a red flag. i definitely stay away from these people 😭 also since im an adult i make sure the person is comfortable with that so i read bios :)

For me it depends on the pfp and name… Ik that’s weird but people who do full names are typically older

I accept pretty much all of them tbh, it’s guaranteed if we have similar book interests tho

for me it depends mostly on how they answer my challenge question lmao but also I don’t accept it if they have like no pfp, friends, books, or groups. And I sometimes decline frqs if they rated one of my favorite books 1 star lmao… but tbh im not that picky about them
