Whoops I guess I've been slacking at recording but so far very interesting read and makes me think about what "breadcrumbs" I've been leaving behind on the internet and how they can be monetized by tech companies.

I have enjoyed this past chapter as it has talked about. The introduction of Google Street view and their data collection that occurred at the start of the 2000s and how it grew to create new avenues for data collection through opening the street view program to businesses. It is very interesting to hear about the proliferation of user data collected by methods such as the street view cars or Explorer backpacks

Interesting start to the book. Its fascinating to read about how the digital age ushered in the age of surveillance capitalism and Shoshana does a wonderful job beginning to explain basic concepts.
