Our story picks up where the previous book ends - on Sabine’s death. She spends much of the first half of the book warring with her new fae self; she’s untrained and barely holds the reins of her control. Basten discovers ancient murals telling of Solene’s darker past, a part of herself that Sabine doesn’t yet know or remember. Basten and Sabine return to Old Coros to be crowned, reuniting with old friends.
