The writer has strayed from the actual story for 40 pages now. He’s fired from his job as an obituary writer for drunkenly publishing his own absurd obit and then it goes on for 40 pages about the following: a tour around NYC, a lengthy description about his street in every season, how he acquired his apartment, how he befriended the landlord, how he met and divorced his ex-wife. 😵💫

I just don’t understand sometimes why NYC writers think they can describe a walk around NYC for two entire pages and think it’s good. It’s either you’re from there and you recognize these places or you’re not from there and you’re like…okay, thank you for those two pages of proper nouns…can we get back to the store now? 🙄
