well and good that paulinus feels bad for being a genocidial bastard, but that’s not endearing me to him. sure, solina also did a lot of child murdering, but she’s not part of an imperialist dictatorship.

i don’t want to like paulinus. but he’s an old man with a sad backstory, so it’s possible that he’ll unfortunately grow on me.

liking it a lot so far! not particularly attached to any of the characters so far, but i really like the symbolism of the alternating pov.
