I was expecting a different kind of book, more of a personal account of a walking life. Instead, it reads like an exhaustive literature review that seemingly references every scrap of writing by every philosophical and literary figure who has ever mentioned walking. I find it a bit tedious as a whole, but with enough insights scattered throughout that I am compelled to keep reading.
