The journey to starting the Zingst and Finkenwalde seminaries is such a great reminder that discipleship is the core of theological education — not merely knowledge, but becoming disciples more deeply united wifh Christ. It’s only by abiding in Christ that we can then disciple others to abide in Him!

The account of the church struggle in Germany and the struggle Bonhoeffer faced with the ecumenical movement being hesitant to take real action is such a good reminder that theology has to work itself out into real life. It can’t just stay in the realm of “ideas” or it is pointless and really un-Christian.

Loving this. Such an encouragement never to compromise on the gospel even when it’s politically, socially, or physically dangerous to hold fast to the confession of Christ alone.
