I hate Elodie more with every chapter. Bren is a time bomb. 32% and it's been a selfish 22 year old concerned with keeping a man around while abusing and neglecting her autistic son.

As an Autistic person, I am now HATE reading this book. Am I supposed to be sympathetic to the MC, Elodie? Because she's so abusive to this child I simply want to throttle her. I love CG Drews, the writing is beautiful, but what is the point of having a MC being so utterly repugnant you hate them? I am wishing page after page that she gets her comeuppance, but I don't think that's likely. Why?
