I just really love slow burn fantasy horror, because like halfway through it's like BAM, everything starts coming together.

There is a lot of weird shit going on but yet I find we are stuck in the city... I want to know all about the Pillars and the magic!
Elfreda is a great protag though; I love that her good memory and sharpness gets used to tell the story.
Finn and Millie are good friends but are up to SOMETHING SECRET THAT MIGHT BE THE DOWNFALL OF THE ORDERRRR... which could be a good thing if Elfreda's secret mission is right

ever since I read "Asunder" I have made it my personal goal to read everything by Kerstin Hall.
So far this is pretty good; weeeird world we are in. I like how I'm slowly finding out what the Renewal is, and how this place works.
I honestly think Kerstin Hall's fantasy is some of the most inventive, unique, and dark universes I spend time in. They're just so cool
