I think I’ve come to the end of my time with this book. I don’t like any of the characters (who all sound the same anyway), the human-facing chapters read like routine “bad guys on a spaceship” drama, and the spider chapters are slow and not interesting to me.

I’m not enjoying this as much as I wish I did. All of the characters—human AND otherwise—sound the same, because there is no development of their interior voices, their concerns and quirks and whatnot.
