The story Eight Bites didn't capture me at first, but I'm very glad I finished it anyway. When she senses the presence in the house, the story transformed into something touching, scary, and sad.

Wasn't expecting the happy ending on Especially Heinous, but I loved it

The 'mothers' story was more confusing, and felt weaker than the first two - more about a bad relationship than about motherhood, and I was unsure about the ending.

I was casually flipping through a stack of maybe-giveaways on my shelf and I guess I tripped and had read 40 pages of this before I knew it?? Jarring and captivating, I'm eager (and afraid?) to read the rest.
