A fascinating read on the history & design of British (the majority of examples in the book are English) country houses. I learned a lot of random trivia facts that I'm not sure I'll ever use like how the word gingham originates from South Asia. Admittedly, I read this book because of my obsession with period dramas, and it was cool to recognize some of the referenced houses. At times the book was dull though.
