Why is he still working if he’s tired of detectiving

End of chapter 8: why did it step out of third person limited for a second? Were we in the authors pov or an omniscient pov? Mistake or clue?

The number of killers did not equal the number of suspects because teacher lady (Helen?) the detective was not a part of the killers. So by their definition of suspects=any character who could reasonably have killed them, the number of killers must always be less than or equal to the number of characters minus one

Why were the coffee grounds in the beaker? And how do you “pour” our grounds? They would normally be “dumped”

The analysis of the mystery was veryyy intriguing
