At the end of Part VIII is a resurrectionwhen all hope is lost and, yest, there is a harrowing of Hell. WOW!

ack tries to explain. His parents are confused. He and stepsister reconcile and she’s interested in hearing about his adventure. He has special knownledge. He found the broken angel and he knows her secret and they bond over that.

His parents must know something happened because he is no longer grieving DP.

The sky cracks open and sparkling light wooshes around. He remembers a dream as a child when DP was lost and maybe it was not a dream. He seems to know this would happen. The swirling light begin to pull things up one by one. The Loser couldn’t understand. Jack announces that they are going to be recycled and made new up there and live again. The Loser rages and says they belong to him. The clock strikes twelve.

He seems to want to love things. He does not understand love. The things cheer for them. The Loser mocks them for loving a human. Jack turns to th things and tells them he has a plan. The padlocks feel hopefully and they begin to open one by one. No lock can contain hope. Things began to clamber out. Jack promises there is a way out if they believe. Then a miracle happens as fueled by Jack’s hope.

Ch. 57 The Loser accuses Jack of being a spy. CP grabs one of Jack’s hands and the angel grabs the others. The other things watch in terror. Like every villian, he asks questions in order to distract them. CP can’t belive Jack loves him, too. Jack demands to let them go. The Loser opens his mouth and flicks his tongues. He lets them know he is mindful of the time and Jack will be trapped soon forever.

CP has his eyes fixed on the Loser. All the cages are padlocked. Jack calls for CP who is astonished to hear his voice. Jack announces his intention to rescue both. He explains the agreement with DP and why he’s choosing to take CP who tells him to run away because it is too danerous and it is too late. He has completely lost hope. The Loser let out the loudest scream and his eye beams shine on Jack. YIKES.

The Loser yells at CP and asks if he is afraid. Jack wonders if the Loser is also fearful deep down inside (fearful of losing control?). CP stands firm and courageous. The Loser mocks him. He sounds like Jadis in his attitude. The Loser keeps eating things. Jack looks for toeholds and slowly climbs up. It’s basically like Mt. Doom and the rocks are hot. He makes it to the top. The Loser has a sticky black tongue.

The loser does not keep the soft parts of things, only the parts that can serve as armor. It makes the Loser look like a robot (the Terminator). He is feasting on old forks with chunks of metal flying. Jack is hidden by the thick black smoke. Jack looks around for CP and spots him in one of the highest cages and broken angel is with him. CP looks shabby because of all the adventures.

Ch. 56 The noise is horrible. The walls are lined with cages and what the Loser has not eaten is held captive. Some things are screaming out of fear and others are weeping out of sadness. These things are cheap and ugly--unwanted and unloved and unprotected. At first, Jack thinks the Loser is a pile of junk but then he sees it move. His search light eyes are not on because the flames light the lair.

Jack tells Compass to go and she shares another nonsense motto. He convinces her that she is needed by others more than he needs her. Jack thanks her and descends the steep slope. He’s going into the inferno. I have a feeling that Compass is going to ignore him. He slid into the hole, tumbling through the smoke into the lair.

Ch. 55 They reach a crater and he kept going in spite of hs sore feet. His thoughts of CP kept him going. They see a red flame from afar, which grows larger the closer they get. Talk about Satanic. After the Loser eats what he likes, he burns up the rest of the thing in the flame. As they get closer, the ground begins to slope down like a volcano. The crater spews out black smoke. There are no finding holes.
