I severely underestimated the amount of work that we have to do during the semester, so I haven’t been reading this book as quickly as I wanted to, but it is still fantastic. Every time I open it up, I feel as though I am actively learning about my career path and the injustices that can be woven into its narrative if we are not careful.

Fell behind in reading due to coming back to school, but this book is so amazing. I feel as though I am learning about the direct relationship of American Education in connection to indigenous land dispossession and anti black literacy laws. Fantastic ties being made by Dr. Givens!

Seeing how the U.S. Education has been used to facilitate racial ideologies and forward the concept of westward expansion is wild. This book is tying together scenes from American history that 1 thought disconnected. A great book!
