Not sure if I'll be able to finish this - the giant worms don't freak me out, but the six or seven scenes of mostly unnecessary animal abuse I have sat through so far have really turned me off. That shit isn't scary, it's just sad. :(

I am going to try and persevere and just skip the Shelley parts, but this book is shaping up to be a DNW. Such a shame, because the story is otherwise really good.
