Hitting on some points I’ve always thought about. Appreciate that this could cause some people to really think about what they’re doing

I banked a lot on Kawakami’s other novels being more honed and focused after reading the comforting but meandering All the Lovers in the Night, and thankfully Breasts and Eggs has not let me down. I didn’t think this one would have me reexamining childhood/girlhood this hard on a Sunday night. Yet, I’m glad I am because a little more intention was what I expected and hoped for with this next read.
