I really like this book and it’s so close to being a 5 star read.
My one complaint is that the main character and another have had the exact same argument at least seven times now; “the bad guys want me because I’m powerful”, “No! They want ME, not you, because I’m powerful”.

Very cool world building happening. Midsommer cult in the forest vibes - but the cults are trying to reign supreme over other cults of varying pagan gods. Cool magic concepts. Wood instead of metals is a nice touch.
