I was brought to tears reading page 20.
"We who have turned our lives over to Christ need to know how very much he longs to eat with us, to commune with us. He desires a perpetual Eucharist feast in the inner sanctuary of the heart....We cannot burn the eternal flame of the inner sanctuary and remain the same, or the Divine Fire will consume everything that is impure, everything that is foreign to His way."

"Maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."
>even if our opinions differ from each other, we can still abide in peace
>you lay down your will/opinion for the greater good, >embrace the ebb and flow of the Spirit, and allow your hear to remain open for your heart to be convicted or confirmed

Submission to each other: the cross-life and the cross-death. Whew! The "Discipline of Submission" chapter was a hard read. Jesus, help me live out this specific disciple!!
"Only submission can free us sufficiently to enable us to distinguish between genuine issues and stubborn self-will."

"In solitude, listen to the thunder of God's silence."
Don't you feel a tug, a yearning to sink down into the silence and solitude of God? Don't you long for something more? Doesn't every breath crave a deeper, fuller exposure to his presence? It is the Discipline of Solitude that will open the door. You are welcome to come in & "listen to God's speech and his wondrous terrible, gentle loving all embracing silence."
