As for Romeria, not the worst but also nothing special imo. I liked her better in the beginning, but later she became insufferable with her judgmental attitude thinking she knows best despite knowing nothing of this world.
Her and Zander were a snoozefest. I felt no chemistry between them. They also gave me the "we know better than the minority" vibes, which is kinda icky 😬
I will check out the sequel tho

The bad guy ended up being the most obvious person, so the ending didn't leave any impression one me. I was waiting for some killer plot twists and revelations that never came.
The characters were meh. The only one I like is Elisaf, I honestly can't believe Romeria didn't fall for him instead (I did). He's nice, polite, funny, a gentleman, and in my headcanon, gay. 😄

This book was not for me. The writing was good, as was the worldbuilding, so I can't blame the book being bad. But damn I was bored most of the book. The first half was fine for learning things but then the learning never ended. It felt like 500 pages of exposition because the MC didn't know anything.
The political scheming was so superficial, they were all so bad at it.

Oh no, the next book is about them on the run and her training isn't it? And more exposition 😫

Honestly, what was even Sophie and Malachis plan? Just throw Romeria into this strange world and hope she would not make any friends and just do whatever she was told???

This was such a boring betrayal. At least give me a plot twist, not this most obvious betrayal because of the most obvious reasons - ambition

That's it? She just used her powers for the first time and we got no description of how she was using it, what just happened? Also, how was she able to do it, wasn't the ring supposed to prevent that?

How nice for the common people that Romeria came along, now all problems will be solved. No one else has ever had these thoughts and couldn't help them before Romeria, she will singlehandedly end poverty in Islor ✊️
