Fundamentalists and assorted religious extremists and fanatics are so passionately certain of the invincibility of their own position; so sure of themselves, so obstinate, that there doesn't actually seem to be any room for faith. They are not believers so much as bigots, since belief entails faith and faith entails doubt.
