chapter 2 done. the outright racism here is crazy and i also think that the plantation image here is very different from reality. on the good side, i have to admit that making almost all of the characters presented until now unlikeable and stupid is brave and requires skill to not let it ruin the book

hello everyone, and welcome to my journey through gone with the wind, my mother's favourite novel when she was my age. i want to attempt to read it in 63 weeks (a chapter a week) or faster if god grants me it i guess. i want to approach it cautiously despite my former acclaim and infatuation with this book and read it critically this time, with sensitivity to its racist, prejudiced and male centered themes. clem out
