Chapter 3 (This Song Will Change Your Life) covers indie rock’s takeover of Hollywood via shows like The O.C. and movies like (500) Days of Summer and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. There’s a lot of content here, and it is a very filling chapter. There’s a bit less about the music itself, but I enjoyed the quotes from DCFC. The playlist for this chapter is also good, but the weakest so far.

Two chapters in and I am enthralled. Feels like a world all its own, I do wish that the author would stop trying to use slag like “throwing ass” and “popping off” as it really takes me out of the experience, but on the other hand, the chapter soundtracks help keep me there. I’m excited to finish this, hopefully I’ll be able to by the end of winter break.
