Dr. Angela Davis points out that women in slavery were equal to men, in labor, socially, and in oppression- more so often. Sometimes they were valued higher than men because they can give birth.
It made me think of that thing men say usually say “if women want to be equal, then can I punch you?” Because it’s always been the case.
