Reading about people who’ve done something to change the world in a positive way has the dual effect of making one reflect on all the ways they haven’t but could be and also motivating them to do so in the future.

I loved the story of how Brown Jackson met her husband— this was the most interesting part of the book thus far. But then it goes back to genealogy and I think that’s where it may lose readers. While I realize why genealogies are included, I’m much more interested in the stories like how she met her husband and wish there was more focus on interesting anecdotes like those.

Such an intensely detailed account of Brown Jackson’s life, but still interesting!
