I’m so conflicted on this book. On one hand I feel like it is much more exciting and easier to understand than book four. I’ve been slitting my time reading and listening to the audiobook and I feel like I am flying through it. The action is good and I feel like I finally understand the motives behind the major forces. BUT the use of female sexuality as a weapon is very much toeing the line for me.

I like that we’re seeing more of the Bene Gesserit backgrounds and plans. However sexuality and using that as a tool for plans is another huge theme so far. I’m wary of this as it specifically deals with women using sexuality as a tool and I’m hoping the author doesn’t veer off into villainy of women due to that.

It’s really good so far, very interesting like the first book in the series. I hope it stays that way.
