Day #1244 was 21 pages long on my Kobo. Tara’s days didn’t used to be so long, or rather they didn’t previously have so much to fill them up. In the section I just read, Tara argues with a man just to challenge him… an action that makes me uneasy after reading THE WAY OF THE SUPERIOR MAN with its assertions that women get off on “testing” men.

This is very vaguebook-y, but something just happened in this book which I honestly had expected to be the case but I forgot that I suspected it. The reveal is exciting for the way it seems to be significantly altering the course of the series. I can see why I’d heard somewhere that the 7 books should be read as one larger story… it feels like we’ve hit the end of Act One.

This is the third in a 7-part series (or is it one work cut into seven parts?). I’ve not been perfectly wowed by them so far, but was intrigued enough to continue on. They’re relatively short, anyway. I think I’m liking this one the best of the three I’ve read, but it’s still not necessarily blowing my mind or anything. Also: maybe I just have ‘Pluribus’ brain but it’s reminding me of ‘Pluribus’.
