Honestly, some parts of the first half were such a slog I almost had to stop. The prose is incredibly lush but sometimes far too cloying. I find myself very thankful for my kindle search features, otherwise most references would be lost on me.

But, once I fell into a rhythm with their back and forth, I was also falling in love with them falling in love. Very keen to finish.
