It’s driving me mad that this is actually a very good book but it has almost nothing to do with the four other books in the series before it

Really and truly feels like I’m reading an entirely new series at this point. Paul goes off and becomes king of the world to save humanity. Leto II says wait a second you low-key didn’t, I’m gonna become a worm to fix everything ~ 3,500 year time jump. He’s now a worm and at the end of the book when he dies, you think they’d explore the fall out of that and how he saved humanity. Nope, 1,500 year time jump!

Did I make sure I already had a book read this year before I started this one in case it sucks all reading motivation from my soul like some of the other Dune books have? Yes I did
