Full steam ahead on Watergate; Nixon recording everything he says; Pentagon Papers published; riots in the streets; this is better than any thriller I can think of.

Perlstein does a fantastic job of conveying how chaotic and disorienting of a time the 60s/early 70s were. There are so many events here that I was already aware of, but reading them in sequence really highlights their compounding significance.

The holiday has kept me moving through this at a pitiful pace but I’m still highly interested anytime I get the chance to read a chapter or two
